We used to take our dog Lily to stay with Dad when we traveled. She would always come back fatter than when we left her. Dad swore he didn't feed her table scraps.
Today I caught him feeding Reuben little treats from his lunch. And to make matters worse, he was feeding him right from the table. Then, when dinner time rolls around, Dad is irritated, wondering why Reuben is pestering him (did you read about sundowning in the previous post?).
Reuben is going to need some deprogramming. In the meantime, he's earning his treats by being a good snuggler and bringing smiles to Dad and the rest of us. But if you're wondering why he hangs out next to grandpa's seat, now you know.
