Anywhooo, Dad is back on his chemo schedule (or cumin, as he calls it). The doctor was really pleased with his lab results last week. His original CA19-9 cancer antigen test was 36,000 and now it's around 900. That seems like a huge difference but apparently that can happen both with unblocking the bile duct and possibly because the chemo is working. Unfortunately, we have about 6 more infusions before a CAT scan. So, if there are no setbacks, Dad will have two more infusions, a week off, 3 more infusions and a CAT scan.
The doc has decided to install a port to administer the chemotherapy since Dad is both tolerating it so well and the nurses are having a harder and harder time finding a vein. I think that will be done this week.
We will be heading to Pinehurst on Tuesday to get some things from the house, have some work done there, and run some errands. If you'll be around, get in touch and maybe you can meet up for a short visit. I'm sure Dad would be happy to see friends.
If you haven't already, please change Dad's address to our home address.
